Offshore Marine Engineer at International Energy Services Limited (IESL) – Lagos

International Energy Services Limited is recruiting an Offshore Marine Engineer on contract in Lagos. The role supports marine assurance and safe vessel operations at the Bonga North offshore worksite.

Offshore marine responsibilities

• Monitor project-vessel movements, approaches, positioning and station-keeping at Bonga North, coordinating with Bonga Marine for operations within the 5,000-metre exclusion zone.
• Inspect vessels and check marine assurance compliance against approved plans, risk assessments, standards and client procedures.
• Observe vessel-to-vessel bunkering and verify applicable environmental and operating safeguards.
• Report incidents, near misses, hazards and deviations without delay and support stop-work measures when required.
• Provide accurate updates to the Marine Operations Centre, Offshore Construction Team leadership and marine personnel.
• Liaise with vessel masters and offshore teams, maintaining inspection records, vessel logs and daily reports.
• Support emergency preparedness, safe work and ongoing improvement of offshore marine procedures.

Experience and certification

• At least ten years’ seagoing experience, including five years in a management-level position on offshore vessels.
• Master Class 1 or Chief Engineer Class 1 Foreign Going Certificate of Competency preferred; suitable unlimited Class 2 Deck or Engineer credentials may also be considered.
• Relevant offshore supervision, deep-water logistics and vessel assurance experience.
• Current offshore survival qualification such as TBOSIET, appropriate offshore medical fitness and required HSE certification.
• Dynamic Positioning vessel experience is an advantage and may be needed for particular assignments.
• Ability to work a rotational offshore schedule and follow marine HSE procedures.
