Head, Production at Dangote Industries Limited – Lagos

Dangote Industries Limited (Dangote Group) is recruiting a Head, Production in Lagos to direct clinker and cement manufacturing, optimise plant capacity and lead production planning and performance.

Role overview

• Oversee efficient production of high-quality clinker and cement for Dangote Cement Plc (DCP), aiming for optimal plant performance and output.
• Translate the production strategy into plans for plant capacity, production activity and material requirements.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and implementation of DCP’s production strategy.
• Develop and manage production schedules, capacity plans and materials requirements in line with business objectives.
• Ensure production follows approved procedures, operating guidelines and established quality standards.
• Communicate the production unit’s direction, objectives and performance priorities to staff.
• Prepare annual production budgets, allocate resources effectively and monitor budget performance.
• Lead the production team to meet daily output, quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Coordinate planned shutdowns of production lines with the Maintenance department.
• Oversee cement kiln lining repairs, raw-material and cement mill operations, and cement packaging processes.
• Monitor developments in cement-production methods and recommend improvements to the Deputy Plant Director (Operations & Maintenance).
• Supervise implementation of approved production improvements and recommendations.
• Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to production personnel.
• Prepare production performance reports and decision-support information for management.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Plant Director.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• At least 20 years of relevant professional experience, including a minimum of ten years in a management position.
• Strong understanding of cement manufacturing, sector trends, challenges, opportunities and the regulatory environment.
• Effective problem-solving, analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Sound leadership, supervision, coaching, mentoring and interpersonal skills.
