Multimedia Journalist at Leadership Newspaper – Abuja and Lagos
Leadership Newspaper is recruiting full-time, on-site Multimedia Journalists in Abuja and Lagos. The position combines reporting, writing and production for broadcast, digital and social media channels.
Responsibilities
- Research stories, verify facts, conduct interviews and pitch news ideas.
- Write accurate articles and scripts for different audiences and platforms.
- Film and edit video, record audio and support live broadcasts as required.
- Monitor breaking news and deliver assignments to tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with editors, producers and newsroom colleagues.
- Follow professional editorial policies, ethical reporting practices and legal requirements.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong multimedia journalism experience, including news production for television or other broadcast platforms.
- Excellent reporting, news writing, scriptwriting and storytelling skills.
- Confident interviewing, fact-checking and ethical judgement.
- Ability to manage several assignments and respond rapidly to breaking stories.
- Knowledge of digital tools, social media and content management systems; familiarity with Nigerian media is an advantage.
