Technical Advisor, Audio-Visual Distribution and Ecosystem Development at Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) – Lagos

GIZ is recruiting a Technical Advisor for Audio-Visual Distribution and Ecosystem Development in Lagos to expand African and European market partnerships and improve distribution opportunities for creative content.

Market access and distribution

• Advise on localisation, distribution, audience development and commercial access for film, series, animation, video games and immersive content.
• Build cooperation between African and European content producers, sales agents, distributors, broadcasters, publishers, streaming services and exhibitors.
• Encourage market dialogue and new business models that improve the reach and sustainability of audiovisual content.

Partnerships and delivery

• Identify ecosystem partners, facilitate industry consortia and coordinate joint plans across the audiovisual value chain.
• Support industry networking, matchmaking, events, market participation and the visibility of supported initiatives.
• Coordinate activities with GIZ projects, Expertise France and EU partners, ensuring alignment with wider programmes.
• Contribute to project planning, monitoring, implementation and progress reporting.

Qualifications

• University degree in Theatre Arts, Journalism, Media Studies, International Studies, Economics or a related discipline.
• At least five years’ relevant audiovisual industry experience, especially distribution, video-game publishing, market development or international collaboration.
• Knowledge of intellectual property, global audiovisual channels, marketing and industry events or partnerships.
• Experience with development or donor-supported international programmes is an advantage.
• Strong strategic judgement, delivery skills and intercultural competence; interest in technology, film and gaming is an asset.
• Business-fluent English is essential; German, French or Portuguese is advantageous.
