Patient Care Assistant at St. Ives Specialist Hospital – Ikoyi, Lagos
St. Ives Specialist Hospital seeks a Patient Care Assistant in Ikoyi, Lagos, to assist nursing staff with personal care, patient safety and routine support.
Responsibilities
- Help patients with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, feeding and toileting when required.
- Assist with safe mobility, transfers, repositioning and movement within the hospital.
- Monitor and record vital signs under nursing supervision and promptly report changes in patient condition.
- Support admission, transfer and discharge processes and respond to patients’ requests.
- Prepare patient areas, restock supplies and follow cleaning and infection-control procedures.
- Assist nursing teams with examinations, specimens and assigned records.
- Maintain privacy, dignity, confidentiality and good communication with patients and families.
Requirements
- Minimum Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE).
- Healthcare assistance or caregiving certification is an advantage.
- Experience in a care or healthcare environment is advantageous.
- Basic Life Support certification is desirable.
- Good observation, communication, teamwork and practical patient-support skills.
