Production and Materials Planning Officer at an Undisclosed Pharmaceutical Manufacturer via Global Linkers – Calabar

An undisclosed pharmaceutical manufacturer is recruiting a Production and Materials Planning Officer in Calabar through Global Linkers Limited. The officer will plan production and material requirements and support the Production Manager with inventory and scheduling information.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production schedules for the Production Manager’s approval.
• Account for batch sizes, equipment capacity, staff availability, cleaning, changeovers and material availability.
• Calculate raw material and packaging requirements using approved formulas and bills of materials.
• Review usable stock and incoming supplies, identify shortages and raise purchase requisitions promptly.
• Follow up with Procurement, Warehouse and Quality Assurance on materials delivery and release.
• Monitor raw materials, packaging, work in progress and finished goods, including expiry and surplus stock risks.
• Compare planned and actual output, identify delays and recommend recovery schedules.
• Coordinate production, packaging, quality release and dispatch timelines and prepare weekly planning and inventory reports.

The Production Manager approves production schedules and directs their execution.

Requirements

• HND or a degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant experience in production or materials planning or inventory control; pharmaceutical or similar batch manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Strong Excel skills, including lookups, SUMIFS and PivotTables.
• Understanding of batch production, lead times, material requirements and stock reconciliation.
• Strong attention to detail, communication and follow-through.
• Experience with an ERP or manufacturing inventory system is an advantage.

Selection assessment

Shortlisted candidates will complete a practical Excel exercise covering production scheduling, material requirements, available stock and planned versus actual output.
