Referent Captain at Bourbon Interoil Nigeria Limited – Port Harcourt
Bourbon Interoil Nigeria Limited is recruiting a Referent Captain in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to strengthen marine assurance, crew capability and vessel operations.
Responsibilities
- Use simulator exercises to support deck training, marine assurance, incident reviews, vessel familiarisation, risk assessment and planning for complex offshore operations.
- Mentor, train and assess crews to improve navigational safety and operational effectiveness.
- Provide specialist advice on navigation, vessel operations, investigations, client inspections including OVID, SUPO, PHI and OVMSA, and lessons learned.
- Ensure vessel operations follow the company’s marine assurance procedures and support the Fleet Manager with OVID analysis and procedural improvements.
- Help schedule annual training for Officers of the Watch, able seamen, new employees, pilots and nightwatch personnel.
- Lead or support vessel inspections, assurance assessments and corrective-action planning.
- Review course feedback and incorporate improvements into training programmes.
Requirements
- A relevant tertiary qualification, at least at diploma level.
- Ideally, a Certificate of Competency as Master of a vessel under STCW Regulation II/1.
- Five to ten years’ maritime industry experience, including at least five years in seagoing positions.
