VFD Specialist at Dangote Cement Plc – Obajana

Dangote Cement Plc is recruiting a VFD Specialist in Obajana, Kogi, to support the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of low- and medium-voltage variable-frequency drives.

Technical scope

The role covers Siemens Perfect Harmony, Simovert Masterdrives and Sinamics; ABB ACS550, ACS800, ACS880, ACS1000 and ACS5000; SEW-Eurodrive Movitrac B and MDX60B; WEG, Nordac, Emerson, Schneider and Vacon drives.

Key responsibilities

Review the performance and daily operating condition of the plant’s VFDs.
Implement scheduled preventive maintenance, assess effectiveness and repeat maintenance work, and recommend improvements.
Enforce operating and maintenance standards and safe working procedures.
Provide training and technical leadership on VFD operation and troubleshooting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Instrumentation, Electronics and Communication Engineering or a related discipline.
At least 20 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in VFD panel maintenance, operation and troubleshooting, including three years in a management position.
In-depth knowledge of VFD systems, uploading and downloading programme parameters, panel fault-finding, drive operation and maintenance, and spare-parts selection and management.
