Coffee Barista at a Modern Café – Lekki, Lagos

A modern café in Lekki, Lagos, is recruiting a full-time Coffee Barista to prepare beverages, serve customers and maintain a high standard of daily coffee-bar operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare espresso, americano, cappuccino, latte, mocha, hot chocolate, iced coffee, smoothies and other drinks to approved recipes.
• Grind, dose, tamp and extract espresso consistently and steam milk to suit different drinks.
• Take accurate orders through the POS, offer suitable product recommendations and provide courteous customer service.
• Maintain flavour, presentation, serving temperatures and portion consistency while reducing avoidable waste.
• Clean, sanitise and maintain espresso machines, grinders, blenders, utensils and coffee counters.
• Monitor supplies such as coffee beans, milk, syrups and cups; help with inventory counts and report shortages or equipment problems.
• Follow hygiene, food-safety and grooming standards and handle customer feedback professionally.
• Coordinate with kitchen, service and management colleagues to keep café operations running smoothly, including at busy times.

Requirements

• One to two years’ experience in a barista or comparable café/beverage role.
• Practical ability to operate commercial espresso machines and grinders, prepare espresso and texture milk.
• Understanding of coffee beverages and terminology; latte art is an advantage.
• Customer-service and communication skills, attention to detail, reliability, punctuality and teamwork.
• Ability to multitask at peak periods, maintain cleanliness and respond to feedback.

Salary

₦100,000 per month.
