Finance Manager via Human Capital Partners – Benin, Edo
A power and energy infrastructure company is recruiting a Finance Manager for its generation facility in Benin, Edo State, through Human Capital Partners.
Role overview
- Report to the Plant Manager, with functional reporting to the Group Financial Controller or Group Controller.
- Manage plant-level accounting, reporting, budgeting, cash flow, treasury, taxation and financial governance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledgers, journal entries, accounts reconciliations and timely period-end close.
- Prepare management accounts and statutory statements under IFRS and applicable Nigerian rules.
- Lead budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, variance reviews and cost-control recommendations.
- Manage liquidity planning, treasury, payments and collections, bank reconciliations and supplier balances.
- Coordinate statutory tax filings, audit responses and regulatory compliance.
- Strengthen internal controls, approval limits, procurement and inventory accounting.
- Work with plant and group teams to improve financial reporting and operations.
- Maintain reliable ERP financial modules, Maximo and other reporting systems; supervise the Plant Accounts Coordinator.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
- Membership of ICAN, ACCA, ACA or another recognised accounting body; postgraduate study is an advantage.
- Eight to ten years of relevant accounting and finance experience, ideally in power generation or an industrial plant.
- Strong IFRS, Nigerian tax, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, internal-control and reporting knowledge.
- Experience with ERP software and financial reporting systems; familiarity with Maximo is helpful.
- Advanced Excel and other Microsoft Office skills, with sound judgement, confidentiality and communication.
