Internal Control / Audit Manager at an Undisclosed Microfinance Bank via Sales Force Consulting – Onitsha
A microfinance bank in Onitsha, Anambra State, is recruiting an Internal Control / Audit Manager through Sales Force Consulting. The role will strengthen audit processes, risk controls and regulatory compliance as the bank expands its digital operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop annual internal audit programmes and evaluate financial, operational and compliance controls.
- Review procedures and policies to identify risk exposures, control weaknesses and non-compliance across branches.
- Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend practical corrective measures.
- Conduct monthly financial transaction audits and report exceptions and remedial actions.
- Prepare audit findings and present reports to management and the board.
- Monitor progress on audit recommendations and conduct follow-up reviews.
- Advise on regulatory requirements, banking procedures and standard operating policies.
- Support a culture of independent assurance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and requirements
- First degree or HND in Accounting, Banking and Finance or a related field.
- Relevant professional qualification is mandatory, including a Certificate in Microfinance Banking issued by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
- At least 12 years’ experience in internal control and auditing.
- Proven senior-management experience within microfinance banking.
- Knowledge of statutory banking requirements, internal controls, auditing procedures and SOP development.
- Competence in microfinance banking software and digital banking operations.
- Strong analytical, organisational, leadership, communication and problem-solving ability.
