Medical Receptionist / Phlebotomist at LAB360 Medical Laboratory – Jabi, Abuja

LAB360 Medical Laboratory is recruiting a Medical Receptionist / Phlebotomist in Jabi, Abuja, to combine front-office patient administration with clinical blood-sample collection.

Reports to: Laboratory Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, organise appointments, answer enquiries and manage patient records and office coordination.
• Confirm patients’ identities and consent before venepuncture or other authorised blood-sampling procedures.
• Collect, label, register and route blood samples using safe collection and transport practices.
• Enter testing information into laboratory software, handle billing and payments and maintain accurate records.
• Follow infection-control, clinical waste-disposal and laboratory standard operating procedures.
• Work closely with laboratory, administrative, maintenance and finance personnel to support responsive service.
• Protect patient confidentiality and help manage supplies and daily reception operations.

Requirements

• Degree in nursing or a medical laboratory discipline, medical laboratory technician qualification, or appropriate phlebotomy training.
• One to two years’ experience is preferred; an accredited certificate is mandatory for applicants relying on phlebotomist training.
• Understanding of venepuncture, finger-prick collection, specimen identification, infection control and safe waste handling.
• Experience with a Laboratory Information Management System, patient service and routine computer applications.
• Professional communication, accuracy, organisation and ability to work with patients.
• On-site work five days weekly in Jabi, with occasional short visits to patients’ homes or offices for sample collection.
