Principal, Internal Audit – Nigeria at Cellulant Nigeria Limited – Lagos

Cellulant Nigeria Limited is recruiting a hybrid Principal, Internal Audit in Lagos. Working within Risk and Internal Control, the role supports the Group Head of Internal Audit in evaluating the effectiveness of governance, risk management and business controls across functions and markets.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and deliver the risk-based internal audit plan, charter, manuals and audit procedures.
• Lead financial, operational and compliance audits, evaluating control design, regulatory adherence and business risks.
• Review records, audit evidence and work papers, documenting control gaps and practical risk-reduction actions.
• Draft clear audit findings, reports and recommendations supported by documented evidence.
• Follow up on management action plans and coordinate with external auditors.
• Coach, supervise and mentor internal audit analysts and review the quality of their work.
• Maintain appropriate audit records and support internal audit strategy and improvement initiatives.
• Build working relationships with management and senior leaders to promote sound controls.

Requirements

• University degree, preferably in a business-related discipline.
• A minimum of eight years’ internal audit experience in growing organisations.
• CPA, CIA or CISA qualifications and membership of professional audit or accounting bodies are advantages.
• Strong command of auditing standards, regulations, governance principles and risk controls.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, communication and stakeholder-influencing skills.
• Ability to handle demanding schedules, data analysis and independent work; fintech or payments-sector experience is an advantage.
