Research and Development Manager at Proforce Industries Limited – Ode Remo

Proforce Industries Limited is recruiting a Research and Development Manager at its Ode Remo, Ogun State facility. The position leads engineering research, vehicle design, prototyping and product improvement across tactical, commercial and specialised armoured vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead research and development strategy, design innovation and technical product roadmaps.
• Direct modelling, prototyping and testing of vehicle platforms, armour systems and mechanical and electrical assemblies.
• Lead designers, CAD engineers, analysts and prototype technicians in producing manufacturable designs.
• Oversee simulation, stress analysis, materials testing, ballistic and blast validation, field trials and quality standards.
• Research lightweight metals, composite protection materials and newer automotive technologies.
• Work with production, fabrication and quality teams to move designs into manufacturing.
• Manage budgets, schedules, engineering documentation, intellectual property and design patents.

Requirements

• BSc, HND, master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering or a related discipline.
• Six to ten years of progressive engineering experience, including at least three years leading technical research or teams in automotive, defence equipment, aerospace or heavy vehicle production.
• Expertise in chassis, powertrains, suspension, structural engineering, armour materials, protection standards, manufacturing and testing.
• Strong competence with CAD/CAM and analysis tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, ANSYS or Abaqus, and knowledge of welding, CNC production and assembly methods.
• Technical leadership, strategic thinking, project management, reporting and problem-solving skills.
