Accountant at an Undisclosed Consumer Finance Company via Elevated HR – Port Harcourt
A consumer finance organisation is recruiting a full-time Accountant in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, through Elevated HR Limited. The position supports the accuracy of financial reporting, lending-related accounting, internal controls and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements, management reports and accurate general ledger reconciliations.
- Oversee loan disbursements, repayments, interest recognition and portfolio tracking.
- Maintain controls, conduct audits and prepare statutory and regulatory submissions, including VAT and SCUML reporting.
- Reconcile income and customer repayments, investigate discrepancies and review account statements.
- Prepare forecasts, budgets and financial variance analyses.
- Monitor lending portfolio performance and identify relevant financial risks or opportunities.
- Provide guidance to accounting colleagues and work with auditors, regulators and other stakeholders.
- Improve accounting processes and support cost-effective financial management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Four to six years’ relevant accounting experience, preferably in financial services.
- ICAN, ACCA or equivalent professional certification is an advantage.
- Knowledge of loan accounting, financial reporting, portfolio management and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong judgement, accuracy, leadership, analytical and communication skills.
