Credit and Recovery Team Lead at an Undisclosed Consumer Finance Organisation – Port Harcourt
An undisclosed consumer finance organisation is recruiting a Credit and Recovery Team Lead in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to lead collections teams and help improve repayment performance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead recovery officers, coach team members and monitor performance against collection targets.
- Design recovery plans for overdue loans and prioritise accounts according to value, delinquency and repayment prospects.
- Allocate recovery accounts and supervise customer follow-up by phone, approved field visits and other channels.
- Record customer interactions, promises to pay, amounts recovered and outstanding balances accurately.
- Escalate high-risk accounts and unresolved repayment commitments to management.
- Analyse portfolio delinquency, recommend process improvements and coordinate with Credit and Sales teams.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports and maintain sound reconciliation and record-keeping practices.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- At least four years’ experience in loan recovery or collections, including two years supervising staff in financial services.
- Experience managing delinquent portfolios and achieving recovery targets.
- Strong negotiation, customer relationship, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant business software.
- Professional integrity and willingness to accompany recovery teams on field visits.
