Category Specialist – Drilling, Completions & Subsurface (DCS) at WTS Energy – Lagos

WTS Energy is recruiting a Category Specialist for Drilling, Completions and Subsurface operations in Lagos, combining upstream engineering knowledge with strategic sourcing and procurement expertise.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing categories covering drilling, completions and subsurface goods and services.
• Develop sourcing strategies, supplier segmentation and purchasing plans for upstream operations.
• Lead technical and commercial evaluations, tenders, contract negotiations and supplier-performance reviews.
• Use cost engineering and should-cost analysis to improve total cost of ownership.
• Maintain compliance with industry rules, regulatory reporting and Nigerian Content (NOGICD) obligations.
• Work with engineering and supply-chain colleagues to align procurement and operational requirements.
• Monitor market conditions, supplier risks, procurement spend and category performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum or Drilling Engineering, Subsea/Mechanical Engineering, Petrophysics, Geoscience or a closely related engineering or subsurface discipline.
• At least three years of upstream oil and gas experience in drilling, completions or subsurface work.
• Knowledge of upstream procurement, engineering, industry standards, reporting and cost engineering.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using SAP or Oracle, postgraduate qualifications, CIPS/APICS/PMI certification and strategic-sourcing experience are advantages.
• Supplier management, Nigerian Content compliance and contract-negotiation experience are desirable.
