Junior Civil Engineer at an Undisclosed Company via WTS Energy – Lagos

A renewable-energy and infrastructure company is recruiting a Junior Civil Engineer in Lagos through WTS Energy. The role combines technical design support, documentation and construction-site coordination.

A Junior Civil Engineer role suited to an early-career engineer with 2–4 years of relevant experience.

The hiring company is a renewable energy and infrastructure company delivering projects across the sector, working closely with contractors, consultants and public-sector clients.

The position involves civil engineering work grounded in construction methods, technical drawings and applicable standards, with exposure to site, structural design or infrastructure projects.

You will join a collaborative project team that values hands-on site experience, professional development and strong safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in preparing civil engineering designs, calculations and technical documentation.
• Produce, revise and review technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Support construction site activities, including inspections, progress monitoring and quality checks.
• Apply applicable standards and Nigerian construction codes and practices to all project work.
• Contribute to structural design and infrastructure project tasks under supervision.
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors and consultants to keep work on schedule.
• Maintain accurate project records, reports and as-built documentation.
• Assist with health, safety and environmental compliance on site and in the office.

Requirements

Required

• B.Eng. or HND in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 2 – 4 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Technical skills: civil engineering principles, construction methods, technical drawings, applicable standards.
• Basic knowledge of Nigerian construction codes and practices is desirable.

Preferred

• Exposure to construction sites, structural design, or infrastructure projects.
• Internship, industrial attachment, or other site experience.
• Familiarity with Civil 3D, Revit, STAAD.Pro, or similar design software.
• COREN registration, eligibility, or graduate membership is an advantage; membership of NSE or an equivalent professional body is desirable.
• NEBOSH, ISPON, or HSE Levels 1–3 certification is an advantage.
