Floor Manager at an Undisclosed Company via Catalyst Path Consulting – Jabi, Abuja

Catalyst Path Consulting is recruiting a full-time Floor Manager for a large supermarket in Jabi, Abuja. Based in retail operations, the role reports to the General Manager or Operations Manager and leads sales-floor performance and staff management.

Store and team operations

• Manage daily supermarket-floor opening, closing, shifts, departmental coordination, product displays, labelling and cleanliness.
• Supervise cashiers, sales associates, customer-service officers and department leaders; plan rosters, oversee attendance, review performance and coordinate training.
• Apply store operating procedures, maintain staffing coverage, resolve operational issues and promote accountability and service standards.

Commercial, inventory and customer management

• Drive sales targets across departments, analyse sales data and product movement, and support promotions and profitable revenue growth.
• Maintain product availability by coordinating replenishment, inventory counts, FIFO/FEFO rotation, pricing accuracy and stock reconciliation with procurement and warehouse teams.
• Reduce waste, losses, theft and stock discrepancies, and resolve escalated customer complaints.
• Maintain merchandising quality, product visibility and customer experience while coordinating improved sales conversion.

Controls and reporting

• Oversee cashier and POS controls, cash handling, store costs, departmental expenses and operational risks in coordination with Finance.
• Deliver daily, weekly and monthly management reports covering sales, inventory, staffing, customer service and departmental KPIs.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Procurement and Warehouse on operational improvements.

Qualifications and required experience

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing, Retail Management or a related field.
• Eight to twelve years in supermarket operations or large-scale retail, including three to five years in management or senior supervision.
• Prior experience with an established supermarket chain such as Shoprite, SPAR, Market Square or another major retail operator is required; experience solely in small shops or informal retail is insufficient.
• Demonstrated capability managing large teams, high-volume sales, inventory, merchandising and customer service.
• Knowledge of retail POS, inventory software and Microsoft Office, with sound financial controls, commercial judgement, leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Retail management, operations or business administration certification is an advantage.
