Legal Officer at Dangote Industries Limited – Obajana
Dangote Industries Limited is recruiting a Legal Officer in Obajana, Kogi State, to advise its transportation and logistics operations on contracts, compliance, disputes and legal risk.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice to management and operational departments on commercial, employment and transport matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate agreements, contracts and other legal documents.
- Monitor regulatory compliance and legislative developments affecting haulage and transportation.
- Handle disputes involving drivers, contractors, customers and suppliers; coordinate litigation, arbitration and mediation.
- Advise on road accidents, insurance claims, liability, debt recovery and contractual enforcement.
- Work with external counsel, courts and regulators, and maintain legal records, opinions and statutory filings.
- Identify and mitigate legal exposure while supporting corporate governance and employee relations.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Barrister-at-Law (B.L) qualification from the Nigerian Law School.
- Called to the Nigerian Bar with valid practising status and three to five years of relevant post-call experience.
- Knowledge of commercial, corporate, labour, insurance and transport-related Nigerian law.
- Strong legal drafting, negotiation, litigation and dispute-resolution skills.
- Experience in logistics, transport or haulage and professional training in corporate governance, contracts or ADR are advantageous.
- Professional integrity, confidentiality, organisation, judgement and Microsoft Office competence.
