Business Development Executive (Laboratory Equipment) at Katchey Company Limited – Ikeja

Katchey Company Limited is recruiting a full-time Business Development Executive in Ikeja, Lagos, to attract customers, maintain business relationships and support sales of laboratory equipment, reagents and related scientific products. The role supports the Business Development department’s targets for customer satisfaction, revenue and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Business Development Manager to prepare marketing plans and monitor their implementation.
• Identify business needs and recommend suitable equipment, reagents and laboratory solutions through consultative selling.
• Collate and assess qualified sales leads and prospect databases.
• Develop proposals, sales presentations and responses to requests for quotation that address customers’ business problems.
• Maintain accurate records of calls, presentations, prospecting, completed sales and follow-up activities.
• Propose business development events such as seminars and organise approved activities.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the line manager promptly.
• Deputise for the Business Development Manager when absent and undertake other relevant assigned duties.

Academic qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum Second Class Upper in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry or Science Laboratory Technology.
• One to two years of relevant experience involving sales or marketing of laboratory equipment and reagents, laboratory analysis or technology, or technical support for scientific equipment.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
• Practical knowledge of sales or marketing for laboratory equipment and reagents.
• Strong report writing, documentation and clear verbal and written communication.
• Accuracy, attention to detail and effective time management.
• Initiative, adaptability and willingness to learn and apply new concepts.
